Cornwall is the hardest region in Britain to write this list for, and it is worth saying why before the picks. It has more self-catering stock than anywhere else in the country, it has two coasts, and it prices like it knows all of that. What it does not have, in the volume you would expect, is properties with a genuinely private hot tub — the amenity arrived later here than it did in Scotland or Wales, and a lot of what markets itself on a tub turns out to mean a shared one.

Seven are below, and the spread across the county is genuinely useful: three on or near the north coast around Trebarwith and Camelford, two on the south around Looe and Pentewan, one in the middle near the Eden Project, one on a farm inland.
One pattern worth knowing before you book. Cornwall is the one region where the four-person options undercut the two-person ones — the cottages at Higher Worthyvale sleep four for less per week than most of the cabins here sleep two. If you are a couple who does not mind a spare bedroom, that is the value in this county.
