01 — a real review score, or none at all

Nothing goes in below 4.6 out of 5 on the provider’s own reviews. Where a provider publishes no score, we say so rather than inventing one.

02 — one place, once, at the lowest price

The same property often sits on several booking sites. We show it once, at the cheapest of them — never the one that pays us most.

№ 03

03 — no filler, no holiday parks

Two units per site at most, so one park cannot fill a page, and no park-scale entries dressed up as a hideaway.

№ 04

04 — commission never buys position

We earn the same whichever place you choose, so ranking is never for sale, and nobody pays to appear.

Snug Hideaways is a curated guide, not an everything-directory. Here's exactly how places get on it and how they're ordered.

What we look for

The rules are mechanical. Nothing enters below 4.6 out of 5 on the provider’s own reviews, and where a provider publishes no score we show it as unrated rather than inventing one. Where we tag a feature, it is because the listing itself states it.
Reviews stack up. We weigh independent guest reviews on the provider's own platform and elsewhere.
Location earns its place. We favour places where our local notes can genuinely help you choose an area.
The provider is established. We work with recognised UK holiday-let operators so your booking is protected.

How ranking works

Order is based on fit and quality — feature match, review strength, and value for the season. Ranking is never for sale. If a placement is ever a paid promotion, it is clearly labelled “Featured” and marked as advertising. We earn commission on bookings (see our affiliate disclosure), but that's the same whichever place you choose, so it can't bias the order.

What we're not

We're not the accommodation provider and we don't process bookings or payments. Prices and availability come from third parties and change often — always confirm on the provider's site before you book.
